Meizu is inarguably one of the most competitive smartphone manufacturers from China — and considering the toughening industry in that country, the company's recent feat is without a doubt a challenging title to achieve. With the likes of Xiaomi Inc. and Huawei Technologies, Meizu has managed to level with their field and at times, outpace them.

Two of its most acclaimed offerings have been launched this year — Meizu Pro 6 and Meizu Pro 6S. Both of the devices are unashamedly metal and are likewise powered by 64-bit deca-core processor from MediaTek, Helio X25: a potent combination of a surefire killer. And as if that is not enough, recent speculations have pointed out that Meizu is indeed planning to end 2016 with a bang.

This speculation has been put to rest, at least, regarding the device's offering in terms of its projected features and specifications as recently leaked sketches of what seemed to be the Meizu Pro 7 have surfaced just in time for its rumored release date on Dec. 24.

Famous leakster @kjuma has shared images of the Meizu Pro 7, the looks of which are identical to that of Samsung Galaxy S7's edge-like design. Furthermore, the images have shown that the upcoming smartphone will have a secondary screen on its left side, similar again to the South Korean firm's previous iteration. Another screen situated below and horizontally with quick buttons has also been spotted.

In addition, a home button at the bottom along with a multi-window feature on Meizu Pro 7 have been noticed. The sketches have also revealed the unit's 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port and an attached speaker grille right below the device. Meanwhile, the back panel of the device has shown its purported dual-camera system placed at the top left corner.

Meizu Pro 7 is expected to come with a 5.62-inch super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display and will be encased in a 6.5mm thinness. It might get powered by Huawei's Kirin 960 chipset with 6GB random access memory (RAM) and 64GB/128GB native storage tier options. Optically, it may be equipped with a 12megapixel (MP) rear camera which could be paired with Sony IMX 386 sensors; an 8MP front-facing camera is likewise expected.
