'Metal Gear Online: Cloaked in Silence' DLC release date news: Game to offer unlimited 'Survival' mode access from April 7

Fans of Konami's open world action-adventure video game "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" will have another interesting addition to its online multiplayer mode, "Metal Gear Online," which will be available starting on April 7.

Gamespot reports the update, which is the Survival mode, will allow players to form a team of six members and compete for reward points and items which can only be retrieved if the team reaches a five-match winning streak.

Konami has provided more details regarding the online Survival mode in their blog post, revealing that there will be 10 chances given to players to access the mode per week. For those who have already purchased the latest "Metal Gear Online" DLC called "Cloaked in Silence," they will be given unlimited chances to play the Survival mode as long as they can handle.

"Metal Gear Online: Cloaked in Silence" is a huge expansion pack for the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" online multiplayer mode. It is the online mode's first DLC ever released that includes a lot of great changes in the game. One of those changes is the addition of a female character named Quiet, a deadly and highly skilled sniper that was already in "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." She is still a very dangerous and well-trained assassin that she is in the base game. One of her abilities is to give long-range shots towards the opposing team at the perfect opportunity and given the right timing. Her physical appearance and get-up will be improved as she is set to become a favorite character in "Metal Gear Online."

Aside from the new femme fatale heroine character in the latest "Metal Gear Online: Cloaked in Silence" content pack, there are also 3 new maps included in the DLC that players can explore. Konami has announced the new maps that include The Coral Complex, Rust Palace and Azure Mountain.

The Coral Complex will be on the extending collection of oil rigs that was designed to appear as a partially reconstructed Mother Base. The Rust Palace, on the other hand, will be a familiar place for those players who have finished the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" game campaigns; it is the spot where Quiet and Snake have to defend themselves against an ambush attempt. Lastly, the Azure Mountain is a place in Africa where players will be pitted against each other in different settings, whether it be in the open plains or the buildings. Azure Mountain is surrounded by a giant rock formation that is known as the Cradle Spirits.
