Though no official announcements have been made regarding the next Kombat Pack for NetherRealm Studios' "Mortal Kombat X," director Ed Boon has, once again, teased the upcoming DLC pack.

"Mortal Kombat X," the tenth main installment in the "Mortal Kombat" fighting video game franchise, was released back in April 2015 and has since received two Kombat Packs. These Kombat Packs have added eight new characters to the game, with each DLC pack introducing four fighters.

The first Kombat Pack added Jason Voorhees of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, Predator of the "Predator" franchise, Tremor of "Mortal Kombat: Special Forces," and Tanya of "Mortal Kombat 4." Kombat Pack 2 added Bo' Rai Cho of "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance," Leatherface of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" franchise, Xenomorph of the "Alien" franchise, and Tri-Borg, a new cyborg character.

Since Kombat Pack 2 was released, fans have been waiting for the announcement of a new Kombat Pack, as well as news of the characters that will be included in the game's third DLC pack. Fanning the flames of Kombat Pack 3 speculation, Boon, who is known for his tendency to troll "Mortal Kombat" fans, recently teased the prospect of a Kombat Pack 3 release.

Earlier this month, Boon posted a seemingly innocuous poll on Twitter, asking followers "Are you going to buy an Xbox One S?"

While this seemed to have nothing to do with "Mortal Kombat X," Boon added "Kombat Pack 3 Da—t!" as the third option in his poll. Unsurprisingly, this option received the bulk of the votes, with 66 percent of those who answered choosing the third option. Meanwhile, 27 percent said that they will not purchase the Xbox One S while only 7 percent answered that they will.

It seems fairly obvious that Boon doesn't really care about the potential buyers of the Xbox One S. He merely wanted to tease a possible Kombat Pack 3.

Meanwhile, Movie News Guide suggests that the third Kombat Pack could introduce Drahmin and Havik as new playable characters in "Mortal Kombat X."

The website notes that Boon himself teased the addition of the possible future fighters in a Twitter post last year. In the image Boon tweeted in October 2015, Drahmin and Havik appear in greater detail than they were when they were last seen in "Mortal Kombat: Armaggedon." This has led to speculation that the two characters may have been refreshed for a future re-introduction in "Mortal Kombat X."

No official release date for "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 has been announced.
