'NBA 2K17' release date, gameplay: Yeezy shoes, improved face scan app and locker codes coming to 'NBA 2K16' sequel

"NBA 2K17" will include fan-requested tweaks, according to "NBA 2K" community manager Ronnie Singh, who appeared on the season 2 finale of "NBA 2KTV."

Singh revealed that the "NBA 2K16" sequel will include a face scan app, which will be far better and more accurate than the one in the "NBA 2K15."

Fans did not like the said app in the previous game. The face scan app in "NBA 2K17" should yield better results than the old one, which fans should be excited about.

"NBA 2K17" is also billed to feature the largest amount of signature animations in the history of the video game series. Majority of the latest addition will involve the biggest NBA superstars. The game allows control of these animations via the right stick.

Locker codes will also be a thing in "NBA 2K17," but they won't be user-based but timed. In addition, Singh teased that the popular Yeezy shoes will be available in the game.

Developer 2K Sports selected seven NBA players to grace the "NBA 2K17" cover. The last superstar to be revealed was Draymond Green of Golden State Warriors, who has been a key player in his team's journey to the NBA finals this year.

Green was among the fan-favorites to be a cover star for "NBA 2K17," which is why many fans erupted in joy seeing him announced as the seventh and final new face of the upcoming game.

The other six were Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves), Andre Drummond (Detroit Pistons), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Paul George (Indiana Pacers), who will be at the forefront.

A Legend Edition of "NBA 2K17" is set to be released with Kobe Bryant on the cover. This pack comes with a MyTeam Bundle, Bryant free agent card, a poster, trading cards and Black Mamba controller skin.

In-game goodies include a four-day early Tip-off access on Sept. 16, 30,000 virtual currency (VC), Kobe #8 Mitchell and Ness Jersey, a Kobe Hoodie, and the 2K Kobe XI shoes.

An "NBA 2K17" Legend Edition Gold is also up for grabs, adding 100,000 VC and a Nike Kobe Shoe Collection to the bulk of items in the aforementioned bundle.

There's also an Early Tip-Off Edition, which includes an early Tip-off access, the MyTeam Bundle, and 5,000 VC. Two more items will be added at a later date.

"NBA 2K17" will be released on Sept. 20.
