In celebration of the ongoing Olympics 2016 in Rio, developer 2K Sports released an "NBA 2K17" teaser spotlighting the men's Olympic basketball team for this year and the legendary Dream Team from 1992.

There was no gameplay footage shown. Instead, the clip captures the moments before the game begins, with a soulful singing of the national anthem and the players preparing for battle.

There were also glimpses of the superstars from both Olympic teams as they attack the net and encourage each other on the court.

Of course, any basketball fan would surely remember how the original Dream Team led by Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson dominated the 1992 Summer Olympics and won gold for USA.

This year's Team USA led by Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Kyrie Irving could also make history and might be on their way to an Olympic gold.

Despite the lack of gameplay showcase, the clip teased that "NBA 2K17" will give players the extraordinary experience to pit the iconic teams against each other.

However, in order to play as the original Dream Team, gamers will have to pre-order "NBA 2K17" as the lineup comes as a pre-order bonus.

Apart from this, Forbes also noticed how the clip featured new body types that helped translate the likeness of Durant, Draymond Green, David Robinson and Charles Barkley, who will be featured for the first time in a 2K game.

Judging by the trailer, "NBA 2K17" will also have improved facial renders, which Forbes says are most notable on Anthony, David Robinson and Patrick Ewing.

The clip also showed that a photo-realistic render of coach Mike Krzyzewski. It is unknown if other coaches in the league will get the same visual treatment, though.

Either way, the video shows that 2K is taking a big step in the graphics department for "NBA 2K17" as it makes drastic improvements in accurately rendering the likeness of the basketball superstars.

"NBA 2K17" releases Sept. 20 to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and personal computer (PC).
