'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 premiere spoilers: Will love be in the air for G. Callen when series returns?

It looks like love is in the air not just for Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks but also for G. Callen when "NCIS: Los Angeles" returns to the small screens for its eighth season.

Previous spoilers for "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 hinted that Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will finally take their relationship to a different level, what with the two moving in together towards the end of season 7 and a possible engagement in the offing for them somewhere in season 8. However, a twist to their arc will see them getting separated physically.

Now, it looks like even G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) has joined that bandwagon.

Callen plays an important role in the series, as he is not just an NCIS Special Agent but also a member of the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles run by Henrietta Lange. The agent has a mysterious past, and it wasn't until one season 7 episode titled "Matryoshka" was shown that his first name was finally revealed. In the said episode, Callen meets his father who tells him his given name is Grisha Alexandrovich Nikolaev.

He has never been seen romantically involved with anyone, but according to a recent spoiler by TV Line, Callen might fall in love with Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly), Arkady Kolcheck's daughter. The publication states that Anna will have a wider exposure in "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8, as she will be seen trying to lend a helping hand to the team.

"We'll push her relationship with Callen forward a bit, as well," said executive producer R. Scott Gemmill when asked in which capacity Anna's character will appear in the upcoming season.

Anna first appeared in episode 21 of season 6 when she and Callen joined forces on a mission to rescue her father. Apparently, sparks flew then between the two, so it remains to be seen if season 8 will afford them the chance to get to know each other better and maybe even start to date.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8's premiere episode titled "High-Value Target" will air on Oct. 2 on CBS. Fans will get to see then if Callen and Anna's relationship will develop into something more than friendship.
