As the launch date for the "NBA 2K17" nears, more and more details about the upcoming game are being confirmed. Fans who have been looking forward to the latest updates will be glad to know that "NBA 2K17" features signature game-winning animations of NBA's greatest players, including Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine.

The short video of the two NBA players which was released earlier features them showcasing their abilities for this latest game in the 2K Sports franchise. The video shows shots taken at the actual All-Star festivities' Slam Dunk Contest held during the final night of the event. Gordon and LaVine sport special suits called motion-capture suits during the game event in order to capture the lifelike display of movement as they demonstrated their amazing skills in the game.

The motion-capture suits help the game developer gain more information about the movements of the players as they go through their unmatched gameplay. Foam and rubber markers are placed at the players' joint areas to understand their moves.

Anthony Tominia, the motion-capture stage manager for the game developer, said "the markers describe the athletes' bone lengths for us, then also give the rotation of those bones."

Mike Wang, 2K's gameplay director, is also in some of the shots where he played defense to Gordon's and LaVine's offense shots. The dunking abilities of both players were demonstrated very clearly in the video clip.

The video shots taken are to be utilized in the animations for the upcoming "NBA 2K17." This much-awaited installment will feature the most number of signature animations for the franchise so far, according to Wang. The animations are going to be from all the big NBA players appearing on the game. These are controlled by using the right-hand stick on the game controller.

One feature brought back to the game is that of locker codes, said Ronnie Singh of 2K Sports.

"They're user-based. They're actually timed-locker codes. That's what the community wants and that's what's coming to 'NBA 2K17."

A face scanning app is also said to find its way to the game, which is hopefully an improvement from the last one's face scanning using the cameras on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The new app is said to deliver much better results.

The game will be released on Sept. 20 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3, and PS4.
