In a surprising move, Philadelphia Eagles traded their offensive lineman Dennis Kelly in exchange for Tennessee Titans' second-year wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. Both teams confirmed the trade deal on Tuesday this week.

The Titans are currently in need of a lineman to give the team depth behind tackle Taylor Lewan right tackle Jack Conklin. Since the beginning of the National Football League's offseason, the team's roster suffered from the loss of two tackles due to a slew of injuries. Moreover, Green-Beckham seemed inconsistent since Jon Robinson took over the franchise as the new general manager alongside Mike Mularkey as the new coach.

The 23-year-old Green-Beckham was Tennessee's second-round No. 40 overall NFL draft pick last year. He finished a rookie season average of 32 receptions and four touchdowns. In his two years at Missouri, the 237-pound Green-Beckham posted a record of 87 receptions for 1,278 yards and 17 touchdowns per CSN Philly.

The dismal performance of the Eagles' receiving corps this offseason in organized team activities, minicamp, training camp, and first preseason game drives the need for the trade. In desperation, Philadelphia could use Green-Beckham's down-the-field talent with his sheer size and speed.

While he is a valuable talent, the former Titans wide receiver comes with a bag of off-the-field issues that could potentially make him a liability for the Eagles.

"Considered a problem child at Missouri. Suspended twice by Missouri and arrested twice for marijuana-related incidents. Kicked off team at Missouri in April 2014 after details of his alleged role in an alleged burglary were released by Columbia, Mo., police. He allegedly shoved a female student down some stairs during the alleged incident, but no charges were filed," his NFL draft preview reads.

Meanwhile, the 6-foot-8 and 321-pounder Kelly was Philadelphia's fifth-round NFL draft pick in 2012 per Titans Online. He started in 15 of all the 30 games he played with the Eagles– nine at right tackle, three at right guard, and three at left guard.
