Nintendo Switch release date, games, news: EA exec promises 'bigger' title available for console

Nintendo is yet to announce the list of compatible games for its upcoming hybrid portable console. However, an Electronic Arts (EA) chief has slightly shed some light on what to expect from the list.

GameSpot reported that EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen made an appearance at the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco, California last Tuesday where he also hinted that some of the "bigger games" from EA will be available for Nintendo Switch.

Jorgensen said, "We haven't yet announced what game, but you should assume that it's one of our bigger games." The EA boss reiterated that they are excited about Nintendo Switch. EA is one of the biggest game publishers in the gaming arena.

The EA chief added, "It's an interesting device. But I can't yet predict how broad it's going to be." He also posed a point to ponder on whether or not the gaming market would be deeply interested in a portable game alongside other mobile devices available today.

EA is one of the listed developers and game distributors that manifested support for Nintendo Switch. Also, when Nintendo launched Wii U, EA ported some of their more popular games at the time such as "Mass Effect 3," "Need for Speed: Most Wanted," "Madden NFL 13" and "FIFA 13."

Nintendo Switch has been teased for many months before it was officially announced last Oct. 21 through a teaser video. In its teaser video, Nintendo Switch can be seen being played with titles such as "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "NBA 2K17" and a "Super Mario" game. However, there is no telling yet whether or not these games will be included in the list of games to be ported to Nintendo Switch.

Nvidia also announced that it custom-made a Tegra processing chip especially for Nintendo Switch. However, Nintendo remains mum about the complete specifications of the console but promise to reveal it alongside the games and accessories for the console sometime in Jan. 2017.

Nintendo Switch is slated for retail release on March 2017.
