NVIDIA has been successful with the launch of their top-of-the-line graphics cards based on the latest Pascal architecture. So far, the GTX 10 series has been well-received by the gamers and tech critics alike, noting its impressive features and faster performance compared to NVIDIA's previous video cards. If the rumors are anything to go by, the OEM behind these Pascal-based GPUs may not be done yet with this technology, as NVIDIA is expected to unveil the new GTX 1080 Ti early next year.

According to Game N Guide, the next powerful NVIDIA graphics card will be presented at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017. The GTX 1080 Ti is expected to boast some of the featured specs of the previously released Pascal GPUs, the GTX 1080 and Pascal Titan X. It is not yet known whether the GTX 1080 Ti will be a better variant than the GTX 1080, although the best bet for now is that the upcoming Pascal graphics card will boast some improvements over its predecessors.

It is reported that the GTX 1080 Ti will be powered specifically by a Pascal P104-400-A1, making it a high-tier graphics card. The gamers can expect an impressively high frames per second (fps) rate with the GTX 1080 Ti, along with the huge 256-bit memory and 8GB GFFR5X, which is already the second generation frame buffer. It is also expected to boast a powerful memory clock, going as high as 1,251MHz.

In terms of the price, the GTX 1080 Ti might be quite impressive, being a top-tier graphics card like the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080. However, it may not be as pricey as the Pascal Titan X, which is seen for now as the more superior video card. Comparing it with the recently released GTX 1050 Ti, the GTX 1080 Ti will probably cost more than the former GPU, which currently has a price tag of $140 USD.

NVIDIA is likely to face a competition with its top rival in the market, AMD, especially that the upcoming AMD graphics card based on Vega architecture will be released next year. The GTX 1080 Ti will be pitted against the AMD Radeon RX 490, which will be the company's first Vega-based GPU, Yibada reported. Still, it is quite too early to decide which among the upcoming NVIDIA and AMD video cards is the best.
