Aside from the new characters crash-landing to Storybrooke from the Land of Untold Stories, "Once Upon a Time" season 6 will be an intense run for Emma and Regina. Both characters will be battling individual issues that could have a profound effect on everyone around them.

Entertainment Weekly shared some photos from the season 6 premiere of the ABC hit series, some of which show Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Regina (Lana Parrilla), Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), and the rest of the gang inspecting the debris of a crash site. Apparently, this is where Mr. Hyde's (Sam Witwer) neighbors from the Land of Untold Stories crash-landed.

According to EW's report, the new arrivals will be seeking refuge and form possible alliances with Emma and the other fairytale legends. Some of these new characters include Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), Jafar (Oded Fehr), and Jasmine (Karen David). Spoiler TV shares this synopsis for the season 6 premiere of "Once Upon a Time":

"In the season premiere episode, 'The Savior,' as our heroes set out to stop Hyde, Emma develops a mysterious side effect, and Storybrooke becomes a haven for refugees from the Land of Untold Stories. Meanwhile, Regina and Zelena embrace their newfound sisterhood by becoming roommates, while Rumple tries to free Belle from the sleeping Curse with the help of a stranger. In flashback, Jafar confronts an afflicted Aladdin in Agrabah, and a secret about the Savior is revealed."

Meanwhile, in an interview with TV Guide, showrunner Edward Kitsis says Emma and Hook's relationship may once again be put to the test because of a big secret that Emma is harboring from him. Kitsis also hints that Emma's secret will not only affect her relationship with Hook, her family, and friends but it will affect her severely, too.

After the events of season 5, Emma and Hook want nothing more than to chill and relax at home. However, spoilers for season 6 reveal that Emma will need all the help she can get to face her demons. Moreover, this help might come from a new, yet familiar, face in Storybrooke. How all these will affect Emma's hopes of finally spending quality time with Hook remains to be seen.

Regina, too, will be in for some surprising turn of events. It will be recalled that she tried to separate herself from her evil alter ego, the Evil Queen, in the season 5 finale. However, she wasn't counting on the fact that the Evil Queen will survive without a heart. Now, it looks like she's determined to wreak havoc to everything and everyone in Storybrooke.

Speaking to TV Line, Kitsis says the separation will cause extreme repercussions for Regina, and it might also endanger her son Henry (Jared Gilmore) and her relationships with the other folks at Storybrooke.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
