'Overwatch' DLC release date news 2016: Sombra, Athena to appear as playable characters? Next DLC expected this October

For the past several months, there have been rumors that the popular first-person shooter video game "Overwatch" will be having its next content pack. Moreover, the new downloadable content pack (DLC) for the game will be introducing new playable characters as official part of the "Overwatch" roster.

Specifically, the rumors are rife that the mysterious character Sombra will finally become playable and will be included on the roster along with Athena in the upcoming DLC. If the rumors are anything to go by, the next "Overwatch" DLC will arrive next month.

As reported by PC Gamer, Sombra is likely to be featured in the upcoming DLC pack for "Overwatch," as the next expansion is said to be focused on the character. Sombra was already introduced in the game and mentioned on some occasions in the gameplay, but the character is not playable.

For now, it appears that Sombra will not be the only new playable character in the game as Athena is also rumored to be featured in the DLC. iTech Post reported that Athena may also assume a supporting character upon the DLC's release, helping the players during a fight. The next DLC featuring the new characters is expected to be released sometime in October. However, there is also a possibility that Athena will be the first character to be introduced in the next DLC, and Sombra will soon be featured after next month's content pack.

Meanwhile, Blizzard Entertainment recently announced that "Overwatch" will be having another patch update that aims to fix the analog controls and other known issues in the game. International Business Times reported that the patch update will normalize the sensitivity of the thumbstick when playing in "Exponential Ramp" mode.

With the next update, the new default called the Dual Zone mode will slow down the sensitivity of some moves using the thumbstick, only increasing when the players get to the outer 10 percent range of the thumbstick's movement.
