Game developer Atlus has recently confirmed a US release of the upcoming fifth installment of the popular video game series, "Persona." The game is already scheduled to come out in Japan on Sept. 15; however, players from the United States may have to wait until Feb. 14 for the title to hit the US market.

Many fans have already considered the release of "Persona 5" a little overdue. The game was supposed to be launched in 2015 for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. However, Atlus believed that the game was not ready for release. To make sure it has enough time polishing the game, Atlus moved it to 2017.

Fans are also expecting the company to provide more concrete details with regard to its gameplay and release date at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, which is scheduled to start on June 14.

According to John Hardin, PR manager of Atlus, the company is making sure that players will get the best possible experience once they release the game.

"Well, the biggest factor in the 2017 release date is attention to detail, Hardin said on PlayStation blog. "When we show off Persona 5 at E3 next week (Next week!), I think you'll understand what we mean. We're making sure every bit is in place. Persona has exponentially grown as a franchise, and considering that this is our first numbered sequel since 2008, ATLUS is taking its time to ensure this is the best possible experience."

Meanwhile, there are reports suggesting that "Persona 5" will introduce a new protagonist who is said to pretend as the Phantom Thief.

Many fans are hoping that the company will stick to the new release schedule. Fans must stay tuned for the upcoming Atlus E3 press conference, which is said to start on June 15 at 9:00 p.m Eastern.
