The Philadelphia Eagles are easily the hottest team in the National Football League (NFL) at the moment and the rankings show just how good they really are.

At 3–0 after the first three weeks, the Eagles are one of the five teams that remain unbeaten at the moment. The Eagles earned the wins with such ease, as they emerged victorious in their past three games by at least 15 points, and it may be time to believe that the Eagles are a real contender.

Fans were initially skeptical of how the team would fare before the start of the season, as the Eagles headed into the season with a new coach and a rookie quarterback.

However, they have done enough so far to make people believe in their capabilities and may even be in the conversation as the team to win it all later in the campaign.

In fact, Peter King wrote in his article that things are certainly going well for the team. "It shouldn't be happening this fast for the Eagles, coming up from 7-9 with a rookie head coach and a rookie quarterback from North Dakota State and a defense that needed a new leader. But it is, and there's nothing fluky about it. The Eagles are legitimate deep-into-January contenders right now."

Giving faith to Carson Wentz has also worked out for the Eagles, with many believing that the quarterback is an important piece to the team and building around him may be the best way to move forward.

Now that they are heading into their bye week, the Eagles still have a lot of work to do. The season is not going to get any easier and injuries and lineup changes are expected for the team to progress.

Furthermore, Doug Pederson is an important piece of the team as the head coach should always try to keep their opponents guessing.

It's only a matter of time before the Eagles can prove if they can truly be considered as contenders.
