'Pitch Perfect 3' release date, cast news, spoilers: Skylar Astin is hopeful for the Trebles to appear in the title

Skylar Astin, who plays Jesse in "Pitch Perfect," expressed his hopes that there will be more to the love story of his character and Anna Kendrick's Becca. Meanwhile, Pink and Ruby Rose might be part of the cast of "Pitch Perfect 3."

It was confirmed earlier this year that "Pitch Perfect" will have a third installment, and Astin later on shared with Hollywood Life how excited he is for "Pitch Perfect 3."

Astin said that "Pitch Perfect 2" lacked a little of the Treblemakers and that he would love to have more of them in the story for the third film. "Obviously I have some personal stock and I would love there to be more Treblemakers and more Jesse," said Astin.

"There was some stuff that was actually cut from the second movie that explained a little bit more why Jesse went away for a while. I don't know if they wanna maybe save that for a third so that's why I won't really get into the plot so much of that, but I'd be interested to watch them take a fun direction with Jesse and get to see that story again," Astin added.

But unfortunately, Astin recently confirmed that the Treblemakers, including Jesse, will not be featured in "Pitch Perfect 3." According to his Instagram post, the film is going to a different direction, which hints that the story does not have a place for the Treblemakers.

Meanwhile, there are reports saying that Ruby Rose is already in negotiations to become part of "Pitch Perfect 3."

Ruby Rose is an Australian actress, model, and DJ that will also star in other movies come 2017 such as "XXX: Return of Xander Cage" and "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter." "Pitch Perfect 3" executive producer Elizabeth Banks posted a photo of her with Ruby Rose on Instagram, indicating that negotiations of her appearance in the film are going smoothly.

There are speculations that if Ruby Rose declines to become a part of "Pitch Perfect 3," Pink will replace her spot in the cast.

"Pitch Perfect 3" is set to premiere on Dec. 22, 2017.
