'Quantico' season 2 spoilers: New faces coming; relationship of Ryan and Alex goes official?

The return of thriller series "Quantico" for its season 2 is almost near, and fans are already excited to catch new episodes.

According to reports, the show will be a lot different from the first season as Alex (Priyanka Chopra) will now be working for the CIA after being moved from FBI. Her line of work will lean more on intelligence, espionage, and game minds now, which means the secret agent will face bigger responsibilities and solve more mind-boggling crimes and problems.

As detailed in the reports, Alex will be coming across new faces. New characters who are also from the CIA will be introduced as the CIA teams up with Alex. She still remains friends with her FBI team, though.

But since the two government bodies often crash, it's predicted that Alex will be caught in a dilemma with her buddies in the security service.

Additionally, the main storyline that many are looking forward to is concerned with the relationship of Alex and Ryan (Jake McLaughlin).

Showrunner Josh Safran mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Alex and Ryan will try working out their relationship. "The first time you see her, you see them together. Alex and Ryan are dating," said Safran.

But Safran said that the two will go through some hurdles in life. As they face different challenges, their connection will be tested, and they will have to decide if they really want to work things out. Fortunately, spoilers say that the two could become official in the new season. Although, they will be caught up in an obstacle in the first 45 seconds of the premiere. As to what it is, fans will have to stay tuned to find out.

Meanwhile, reports also stated that Harry Doyle (Russell Tovey) will be joining as a series regular. Blair Underwood has also secured a spot in the show by playing as a new character, a CIA officer named Owen Hall.

The second season of "Quantico" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
