'Secrets and Lies' season 2 rumors: premiere date and new details

ABC has yet to officially announce the premiere date of "Secrets and Lies" season 2, but the  rumor mill is currently buzzing of a July release date according to some reports.

According to Enstarz,a July release date will make perfect sense as it allows for a timeframe wherein ABC can air promo clips as well as a summer schedule. Moreover, a summer run is possible in line with the previous season's spring premiere. On the other hand, this might just be a result of ABC still trying to find the right spot for the series, similar to what happened in the first season. Supposedly, the first season was to get the slot vacated by the early season finale of "How to Get Away With Murder." However, it was given a mid-season debut on March 1, 2015, Sunday instead, giving the slot to the pilot season of "American Crime." Showrunner Barbie Kligman was recently asked by a fan via Twitter with regards to the series' release date, to which she replied, "It's coming!"

Other than that, the show's executive seems to be keeping the lid on further details until a concrete airing schedule is finalized.

On another note, season 2 spoilers indicate that the story will continue as Detective Cornell investigates the murder of Kate, who is Eric Warner's wife. While the investigation unfolds, dark secrets begin to unravel as Cornell interrogates Eric and each of his family members. As for cast members, Cornell will be the only face from the first season that people will see. Previous reports already confirmed that Ryan Philippe will not be reprising his role for the mystery television's season 2.

American mystery television series "Secrets and Lies" is based on the Australian television series of the same name. The show is developed for American television by Kligman. The first season ran from March to May 2015 with 10 episodes in total. ABC ordered 10 episodes for season 2 as well.
