"Sense8" season 2 is still currently in production, so fans who are eagerly awaiting its return would have to wait a wee bit longer. Nevertheless, the latest news from the Sensates' camp is that a new big bad is set to join the upcoming installment.

It came as a surprise to those following the series when Aml Ameen, Capheus in the series, decided to bid the show goodbye. Toby Onwumere, who promised that the Van Damme-loving Capheus would see a significant character growth in the upcoming installment, has since replaced him.

However, according to International Business Times, a new face will be joining "Sense8" season 2, a villain who would be played by Sikandar Kher ("Woodstock Villa"). Netflix is yet to confirm this, but the news is all over the place, and even major media organizations have reported it.

Previously, it was reported that the Sensates would be exploring their powers in season 2, learning things about their capabilities that they didn't know in the past, with Whispers (Terrence Mann) still being their toughest threat. Nevertheless, IBTimes said Kher's character is expected to rival the villainy of Whispers.

Meanwhile, "Sense8" season 2 would also have an arc devoted to the love triangle between Kala (Tina Desai), Wolfgang (Max Riemelt), and Rajan (Purab Kohli).

According to Yibada, Kala, who initially agreed to be Rajan's girlfriend to make her family happy, would develop deeper feelings for the latter. Apparently, just when she starts to explore her feelings for him, Wolfgang would enter the picture again, thereby adding tension between the two men.

"Sense8" season 2's airdate remains unclear to date. There are speculations that problems with production are pushing the release date further, and this was something co-creator Michael J. Straczynski told Creative Screenwriting recently. It seems the difficulty has a lot to do with the eight Sensates shooting in various parts of the world.

"We had to rejig everything to make the time zones work," he said. "It became a pain in the ass, but the collaborative process of the writing was very solid."

"Sense8" season 2 will have a holiday special airing in December 2016, but regular episodes might start airing sometime in 2017. Stay tuned for more updates about the Netflix series.
