The titles of the first couple of "Sherlock" season 4 episodes have been revealed, giving clues on what is in store in the next season of the BBC hit.

The highly-anticipated season will premiere with an episode titled "The Six Thatchers." According to Collider, this installment is likely adapted from "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons" by Arthur Conan Doyle.

It is a story about a man has been wrecking busts of Napoleon. This "Sherlock" episode will be directed by Rachel Talalay who is fresh from her helming stint in "Doctor Who."

Following this episode is "The Lying Detective," which is believed to be based on "The Adventure of the Dying Detective," another tale by Doyle.

If it is the case, this "Sherlock" season 4 episode will see Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) horribly ill with Watson (Martin Freeman) looking for ways to get to the bottom of the illness.

Award-winning director Nick Hurran, who is known for helming the "His Last Vow" episode from the third season, will be the man in charge of the episode

This is likely the episode where "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" actor Toby Jones will appear. He is believed to play a doctor that attends to Sherlock with evil agenda although his character is still being kept under wraps.

The third episode of "Sherlock" was kept secret. The only confirmed information for now is that Benjamin Caron will be the director.

This season is expected to be the darkest yet. It will reportedly feature the return of James Moriarty (Andrew Scott), who is being heavily mentioned in trailers.

"Sherlock" season 4 is also expected to see Mary (Amanda Abbington) more involved into her husband Watson and Sherlock's dealings. This is because her past as an assassin, which renders her capable of some action, has already been uncovered.

"Sherlock" season 4 will premiere early next year on BBC.
