'Spider-Man: Homecoming' trailer release date and rumors: Trailer attached to release of 'Rogue One'

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is set to hit theaters in July 2017 | Marvel

The production for the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has officially wrapped up, and though the movie is already set for release in July 2017, fans can't help but be curious as to when they can get a first look at the solo movie of the new Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Reports say that a new trailer may be coming soon, and it will be attached to December's most anticipated movie, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

According to ComicBook.com, sources close to the production staff say that the trailer for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" could very much arrive on or before Dec. 16, which is the release date for "Rogue One." It's also interesting to note that in "Captain America: Civil War," Spider-Man takes a page out of "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" when he takes down Giant-Man (Paul Rudd).

Some speculate that the reason the trailer could be coming out on that date is because "Rogue One" is considered to be Dinsey's last big film of the year, and it may be a way for the company to tease the bigger blockbusters that are coming out in 2017.

The same site adds that it would be more fitting for Disney to release a full "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer since it is very close to the sci-fi genre that "Star Wars" falls in. Nevertheless, fans are excited to get a first look at the new Spidey.

Clips from the movie were actually teased back in the San Diego Comic-Con, and there is a detailed description of the clips online. The movie seems to focus on a teenage Peter Parker and his life as he juggles high school and superhero work.

Previous "Spider-Man" films grazed Peter's life in high school, but this movie looks to feature entirely a young Peter Parker as he comes of age, grows up with his friends and tries to attract girls.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is set for release on July 7, 2017.
