'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers, plot news: Dean and Sam will try to rescue Castiel from Amara's evil hands

With only three episodes left for "Supernatural" season 3, the show keeps surprising fans with revelations and unexpected plot twists.

To give a short recap, last week's episode titled "Don't Call Me Shurley" finally revealed that God is the prophet Chuck (Rob Benedict). After Amara (Curtis Armstrong) previously unleashed a fog which was one of her old tricks, but the humans were able to recover from her evil deed.

As noted in the official synopsis for this week's episode titled "All in the Family, " Dean will witness how Amara tortures Lucifer. Dean and Sam are worried for Castiel, so they plot an elaborate plan to  save him from Amara's villainous hands. In the promo clip, Chuck and Dean are in a park talking about Amara's plan of destroying everything she can. As Dean argues that he should be the one to take Amara down, Sam gets confronted by God's sister.

Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) is still in Castiel's body, which makes the Winchester brothers do everything they can to save their friend from Amara. Will they be able to save her in time? Or will she pay the ultimate price? The situation seems problematic because the divinity already revealed that he has been on Castiel and the Winchesters' side for a long time, but their actions keep compromising things. Saving Castiel without Lucifer will be more difficult than it looks, and if this happens, more problems can occur.

The summary for episode 21 reads:

"The War Continues - Amara (guest star Emily Swallows) shows Dean (Jensen Ackles) how she's torturing Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino). Worried for Castiel (Misha Collins), Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) come up with a plan to rescue him from Amara's clutches. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner."
