'The Last of Us 2' release date news 2016: Game sequel to arrive before 2018, to be more horrifying than first 'TLoU'
The fans of "The Last of Us" are still hyped for the anticipated sequel to the successful first-person shooter video game. The game title focused on the apocalyptic scenario on Earth is rumored to have a continuation to be released in the coming years. However, it is not yet confirmed by the game's developer if "The Last of Us 2" will arrive next year, although it seems unlikely before now that the game sequel will be out before the end of 2017.
Naughty Dog, the game developer company behind the hit video game, has not yet announced the possible release date of "The Last of Us 2," although there are telling signs that the company is currently hands on in developing the sequel. According to the recent reports, game director Neil Druckmann confirmed that he and his team are already brainstorming for the possible story of "The Last of Us 2" as they ready the new set of game titles that they will introduce in the years to come. It is rumored that the sequel will feature more scenes of death and psychological thriller.
Many gamers were hyped for this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, hoping that Naughty Dog will say something about the sequel. Unfortunately, it appears that the details about the sequel's development are still under wraps as the company did not mention "The Last of Us 2."
Moreover, Naughty Dog is already finished with "Uncharted 4," meaning that they will have more time focusing on "The Last of Us 2." It does not mean, however, that the sequel will be out very soon. It is also unlikely that Naughty Dog will be able to finish the sequel as early as 2017 because the rumors are rife that there will be a lot of new contents that are going to be in "The Last of Us 2." Instead of next year, it is more probable that the game sequel will be released sometime in 2018.
There are indications in the recent past regarding Naughty Dog developing "The Last of Us 2," with the most notable Easter egg included in the epilogue scene of "Uncharted 4." The scene featured a photograph of a pregnant girl who looks a lot like Elle, Game N Guide reported. In the particular scene in the game, the pregnant woman is wearing a gas mask and wielding a gun. The caption of the poster is "The Last of Us: American Daughters." Many gamers see this poster as a teaser for the much-awaited continuation of "The Last of Us."
It can be noted that Ellie is the only human survivor immune to the deadly virus that has turned the entire world into a wasteland full of mutated zombie-like beings. If the poster does show Elle's present condition, "The Last of Us 2" will possibly tackle Ellie's immunity to the virus and find ways to use this immunity to eradicate the infection with the help of her child.
