Amazon's "The Man in the High Castle" officially returns to the small screen, and two new clips for the upcoming sophomore season has been recently released.

In the latest trailer and promo clip,  the alternate history drama gives viewers a glimpse of its protagonist, Juliana. She continues to run away from both the rebel forces and Japanese soldiers, but where will she end up? As the latest videos show, she winds up on the Nazis' door, where she appears to be seeking asylum. After being interrogated, they eventually grant her asylum from the Pacific States of America.

According to the premiere's official synopsis, season 2 picks up with Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) as she faces the repercussions of her decision to betray the Resistance. As fans can recall, she previously allowed Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank)—a suspected Nazi agent—to flee from the Pacific States while carrying a film supposedly meant to be for the Man in the High Castle. Joe will eventually return a hero to the Reich and he will find himself forced to go to the Nazi capital of Berlin where he crosses paths with his father who abandoned him.

Meanwhile, Frank Frink (Rupert Evans) becomes more radicalized and further involved in the Resistance after he sees images of his own execution in the mysterious films. As the political tensions between Germany and Japan continue to rise, Trade Minister Tagomi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) starts regretting his success in getting nuclear technology from the Reich. To find peace, he will enter the extraordinary new world he discovered during the last moments of season one.

Elsewhere, Obergruppenführer John Smith (Rufus Sewell) finds it very difficult to remember the values of the Reich with the unfortunate health condition of his son. Aside from dealing with personal issues, he must work on a mission from the Führer for which there will be no room for failure. Chief Inspector Kido (Joel de la Fuente) begins to be more intrigued by the films, the Man in the High Castle, and how Juliana Crain is linked to everything that's happening.

The second season of "The Man in the High Castle" premieres on Friday, December 16 at 3:00 a.m. EST on Amazon.
