'The Night Shift' season 3 penultimate episode spoilers: Syd & TC get trapped in humanitarian crisis; Scott & Jordan execute dangerous rescue mission during wildfire

Syd and TC find themselves trapped in a humanitarian crisis on the Syria-Turkey border while Scott and Jordan's lives are endangered during a rescue mission outside San Antonio in the upcoming episode of NBC's hit medical drama "The Night Shift" season 3.

In the penultimate episode titled "Emergent," some of the team members will find themselves in a life-threatening situation while doing their job. According to the official synopsis, a wildfire rapidly spreads outside San Antonio and Scott (Scott Wolf) & Jordan (Jill Flint) will do a dangerous rescue mission. Across the map, tensions continue to escalate between Syd (recurring guest star Jennifer Beals) and TC (Eoin Macken) when they find themselves caught up in a humanitarian crisis on the Syria-Turkey border.

The first hour of the special two-part finale will also see Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) and Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) in a heated argument because of their conflicting views on a patient's treatment. Drew's (Brendan Fehr) plans to adopt Brianna (guest star Kyla Kenedy) will be threatened by a major setback while Topher (Ken Leung) faces difficulties with finding a buyer for the hospital. To make matters worse, important medication for patients go missing.

 A promo teaser for "Emergent" has been released featuring intense scenes up ahead. "Nothing can prepare you for what comes next," the voiceover warns. Scott and Jordan go out to do a rescue mission outside San Antonio but no backup crew was present to accompany them. They appear to be lost in the fields, and the next scene showed Jordan in a state of panic as the fire continues to consume the whole area. Scott and Jordan take refuge under insulated sheets to protect themselves as the fire quickly spread. Scott hugs Jordan and helps her stay calm while they wait to be rescued.
