'The Night Shift' season 3 spoilers: Topher's mother lands in ER; Drew and Shannon make surprising discovery after treating injured foster mom in episode 8

Topher's mother gets rushed in the emergency room with mysterious symptoms while Drew and Shannon make a surprising discovery after treating a badly injured foster mom in the next episode of "The Night Shift" season 3.

In the upcoming episode titled "All in," Topher's (Ken Leung) mother lands in the ER and the team finds out that she has life-threatening symptoms. As her health continues to deteriorate, they desperately work to save her life before it's too late. Meanwhile, Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) tend to a foster mom suffering serious injuries. Drew bonds with the scared young foster daughter, and while talking to her, the team discovers the mother's secret.

Jordan (Jill Flint) and Scott (Scott Wolf) are tasked to treat a patient with a rare condition, but a valuable piece of machinery needed for his treatment fails. Jordan must quickly find a solution so he enlists the help of TC's (Eoin Macken) new girlfriend Jessica (guest star AnnaLynne McCord). Her company makes the said machine and Jordan hopes that she'll help him pull some strings to get the equipment as soon as possible.

As seen in the promo clip, the team will be surprised to see Topher's mother being rushed to the ER. The background voice described his mom as the "patient they cannot lose," while the doctors furiously work to save his mother's life. Topher stands beside his unconscious mother while talking to her, desperately looking for vital signs. The reason behind his mother's condition was not featured in the clip but she seemed to have been brought to the hospital via helicopter. It remains to be seen if Topher's mom survived or not.
