'The Originals' season 4 spoilers update: Mikaelsons are alive; Marcel to go after Klaus?

"The Originals" season 4 spoilers are highly anticipated even if the show doesn't have a definite 2017 premiere date yet. It seems fans are already eager to find out what will become of the Mikaelsons, particularly Klaus (Joseph Morgan), now that Marcel (Charles Michael David) has learned that they are still alive.

It's common knowledge that when an original vampire dies, all of those they have turned, their sires, will likewise die. However, Marcel would be able to deduce that the Mikaelsons, considered the original vampire family, are still alive somewhere.

In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Michael Narducci explained that this is something Marcel figured out, considering the Elijah line of bloodsuckers is still thriving. Apparently, Marcel will put two and two together and surmise that the line is still alive, after all.

Because Marcel has strong reason to believe that the Mikaelsons are alive, he would try to look for Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and ask her for help. Otherwise, he would summon the help of a witch so he can end the line once and for all.

Narducci also intimated to Entertainment Weekly that Klaus, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his family, will "be suffering unendurable agony for who knows how long."

"When we see him again, will that choice to be selfless, which resulted in so much pain and agony and solitude — the thing that he fears most — will that actually make him even more of a monster? And remember, he won't have Cami to help him," he said.

Whether Klaus will take a backslide or not remains to be seen, but based on Narducci's statements, it seems Klaus will wake up from his coma a changed vampire. Meanwhile, his siblings Rebekah, Freya, Kol, and Elijah would have their own adventures in dreamscape, but that won't stop them from cooking up a plan to save Klaus.

"The Originals" will return to The CW in 2017.
