"The Originals" season 4 has a lot to answer as far as loose ends from season 3 go. For one, where did Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) take the caskets bearing the bodies of Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Rebekah (Claire Holt)? Are Hayley and baby Hope safe? Will Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) hunt Hayley to demand answers, making him the show's villain?

At the end of season 3, Marcel put a comatose Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in a tomb while thinking that the rest of the Mikaelsons are dead. This was something Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) wasn't too happy about. Little did Marcel know that the four remaining Originals were transported to a dreamscape where they would have to wait until someone rescues them or they're able to help themselves.

According to Inquisitr, while the Originals are in dreamscape, Hayley will keep their bodies somewhere safe until she secures a cure. She would have to act quickly and hope she isn't caught especially since Marcel would finally get wind of the Mikaelsons' true state.

Whether Hayley would ask a witch to put a protective barrier around the Mikaelsons' caskets to keep them safe while she looks for a cure is something viewers would have to find out when season 4 returns. At any rate, whomever Hayley asks for help would have to be someone she could trust. In line with this, the show's executive producer, Michael Narducci, weighed in on what Hayley's next move will be.

"There were hints in the finale of what Hayley's next move is going to be. I don't want to say too much ... She has a giant puzzle to figure out in order to cure everyone, and given that they're dying from a wolf bite, I think you can guess who she might turn to," he told TVLine.

He also clued viewers in on a possible time jump from where season 3 ended to where season 4 picks up.

"That experience in the time jump will be similar to what the audience is feeling. To me, in a way, it actually makes sense," he said.

What he made very clear was that Marcel would not be season 4's villain. In his interview with TV Guide, he said that Marcel "has his own code of honor" and "he wants what's best for ... New Orleans."

There is no news yet as to "The Originals" season 4's premiere, but The CW has revealed that it could be due for a mid-season premiere. There is still no word if the fourth season would be a full 22-episode commitment.
