The fans of the first "Watch Dogs" video game have long been speculating about a sequel which is expected to come out this year. After months of keeping their mouths zipped regarding the rumored sequel, it seems that Ubisoft has finally let the cat out of the bag as the game developer company announced through their Youtube channel that "Watch Dogs 2" will be among the big game titles that they will be showcasing this year. The "Watch Dogs" sequel is expected to feature a lot of improvements from its predecessor.

Game Spot reported that Ubisoft will be showcasing "Watch Dogs 2" along with "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands," "For Honor" and "Eagle Flight" at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 which will be held on June 14-16.

Moreover, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot claims that the upcoming "Watch Dogs" sequel will have a "new tone" and "innovative gameplay" that will make the game a stand-out over the original "Watch Dogs." In order to make the game more exciting while keeping the same elements that made the fans fall for the game, Ubisoft is expected to include new gameplay features such as a new city and possibly a new protagonist. Game Rant reported that the previous protagonist Aiden Pierce will be replaced in "Watch Dogs 2."

According to the latest reports, "Watch Dogs 2" will shift the place of action to San Francisco. It will also have a new "morality" theme in the gameplay which involves the decision of the player to do what is best for a given circumstance, and this decision will dictate the direction of the game.

Regarding the new protagonist character, the rumor began when a motion capture actor posted a picture on Instagram that shows the rumored new "Watch Dogs" main character. While the actor set the settings of his Instagram account private to not allow more people to see the picture, a Twitter user named NerdLeaks was able to save a copy of the picture and shared it online using tweets with the hashtag #WatchDogs2.

There are fans who wish to replace Aiden Pierce as the protagonist and have someone who has a unique personality and less combat experience for the sequel.
