'Wayward Pines' season 2 finale spoilers news 2016: Abbies invade; Theo's life-and-death options

The finale episode for "Wayward Pines" season 2 is fast approaching, and fans cannot wait to find out what fate is in store for Wayward Pines residents. The series may be coming to a close, but the last episode this season will not lack excitement and assuredly death as well. In fact, death may be the only sure thing that viewers can expect from "Bedtime Story," as "Wayward Pines" season 2, episode 10 is entitled.

An ensuing invasion of the Wayward Pines by the Abbies is imminent. Hunger is also a prime issue to face. Unfortunately, town leader Jason Higgins (Tom Stevens) was shot in the previous episode. This will put pressure on Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) to decide what to do.

Before Higgins was killed in episode 9, his plan had been to try to keep the people alive by eluding the Abbies. To do this, he had to put the population to sleep, but there was a dent on that plan when CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou) discovered that only half of the pods could be used. Higgins had to decide who to save and put to sleep and who to sacrifice to starvation and the Abbie attack.

The expectation to act will now weigh heavily on Yedlin in the finale episode. He had not agreed with Higgins' idea, but it will be his responsibility to decide what to do.

Other questions that avid viewers of the show may be wondering about touch on the Abbie leader, Margaret. She was shown recovering from her wounds in the last airing. She has also shown a partiality to children and pregnant women. Will this mean that she will spare them when the attack commences?

A flashback during the last episode showed that Higgins is Kerry Campbell's (Kacey Rohl) son. In the next episode, fans are wondering if Campbell will find out, especially after Higgins was shot.

The biggest question to be answered is what the Wayward Pines residents will do in the face of the invasion and the impending starvation.
