'Yuri!!! On Ice' episodes 11, 12 spoilers: Grand Prix Finals to end in a major heartbreak?
The Japanese sports anime series "Yuri!!! On Ice" is about to conclude its final chapter. But aside from the question of who will ultimately win the Grand Prix Finals, there is also the matter of Yuuri and Viktor's impending break up.
In the post-credit scene of episode 11, Yuuri told Viktor that after the finals, they should also end whatever relationship they have. What did he mean by this and what drove him to say such a thing? Will Viktor concede and let him have his way, or will Yuuri's upcoming performance on ice help make him change his mind?
Episode 12 titled "Gotta Super Super Supercharge it!! Grand Prix Final Free Skate" will feature the final battle between the top six men's singles figure skaters: JJ from Canada, Otabek from Kazakhstan, Phichit from Thailand, Yuri from Russia, Christophe from Switzerland, and Yuuri from Japan. Each of them has his own unique style, character, and motivations to win, and it will surely be a heart-stopping episode up ahead.
And since "Yuri!!! On Ice" is expected to end in episode 12, fans of the anime series are already anticipating news about a possible second season. Series creator, Mitsurou Kubo has reportedly expressed interest in working on more "Yuri!!! On Ice" episodes. In reply to a fan's question on her blog post regarding her plans for the skating season this year, Kubo replied that she would be working her heart out on the series while also finding time to watch and cheer on the skating matches online and on television.
Kubo went on to share her plans for the coming new year, "I have a lot of plans in the works with the director next year... including the wish to create a sequel."
Fans of the show have speculated that Yuuri may not win the gold medal in the upcoming Grand Prix Finals, and that a possible season 2 will give him and Viktor another chance to prepare together for another figure skating competition.
"Yuri!!! On Ice" episode 12 will air in Japan on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
