ZTE Axon 7 specs, price news: Released at $450; features 20-megapixel camera, 5.5-inch screen, 6 GB of RAM

Chinese multinational telecommunication company ZTE has just made its latest flagship Axon 7 official. It's a successor to last year's Axon device which yielded high-end specs. Since ZTE aims to continue the standing of the series, it has made Axon 7 to be a smartphone that offers a competitive experience at a competitive price. 

According to a report by The Verge, the new Axon handset is the enhanced version of the previous device in the line. It comes with a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1,440 pixels by 2,560 pixels and Gorilla Glass 4 for screen protection.

Under the hood is a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. There will be two variants available, as noted in CNET. One will carry an internal memory storage of 64 GB paired with 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) while the other one will have a capacity of 128 GB paired with 6 GB of RAM.

As for the camera specs, the device will feature a 20-megapixel rear camera with optical stabilization, f/1.8 lens, and 4K video capability. Meanwhile, the front will carry an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. The ZTE Axon 7 will also run with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but reports say that it will be upgraded to Android N once the new operating system arrives.

Moreover, the handset will be powered by a 3,140 mAh nonremovable battery and will be featuring a Dolby Atmos audio technology. Its sound system feature is actually one of the device's highlight as it provides a dual-speaker setup with both positioned on the front of the phone. It also supports high-resolution audio and has been upgraded with an audio chip for the headphones function.

Engadget also noted that the device will have a fingerprint scanner at the back, which is a premium-looking unibody metal case. The real deal about the device, though, is that considering its high-specs, the base price is only $450.
