'19 Kids and Counting' Duggar Family News, Recap: Unattended Gun Near Five-Year-Old Josie Sparks Controversy
Controversy erupted during last week's "19 Kids and Counting" reality show after a gun was shown lying on the ground near five-year-old Josie Duggar while the Duggar family was on vacation in Texas recently.
"19 Kids and Counting" is aired every Tuesday on TLC at 9 p.m.
The story about the unattended gun generated a lot of negative feedbacks for the family in social media. The photo of the gun near Josie was magnified and analyzed in a number of websites. Many netizens faulted the concerned Duggar family members for leaving a gun near the young child while they were fishing in a lake.
Some websites such as Design & Trend said the gun looked like an unattended shotgun. However, after carefully scrutinizing the photo, some other websites came to the conclusion that it was just a toy gun or a BB gun that Jackson Duggar was seen holding earlier.
Meanwhile, the members of the Duggar family continued their preparation to welcome Jill and Derek Dillard's baby into the family. Jill, 23, is expected to deliver the baby on March 24.
The Duggars held a baby shower in Arkansas on Monday, which also served to mark Derick's 26th birthday. The event served as an occasion for the whole family to bond together.
Meantime, eldest daughter Jana Duggar decided to go against her parent's wishes and pursue her dream to go to college. Many fans of the show backed her, saying they wanted her to break free from her family and build a career like what her brother John David did.
However, the Duggar family soon posted a variety of snaps on their social media accounts proving that Jana was still at home and part of the reality show.
As for the other Duggar daughter, Jessa, who married Ben Seewald last year, she has been speaking about her plans to start a family and has also discussed the possibility of adopting a child.
