2014 Country Music Awards Winners: Urban, Lambert, Bentley Among Big Winners

Country music fans were overjoyed at the news that Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley won in two categories of the Country Music Awards' (CMA) on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Urban and Lambert won for "Musical Event of the Year" while the "Music Video of the Year" award went to Bentley.

Musical Director Wes Edwards shared the award with Bentley since they worked together for the success of "Drunk on a Plane."

Urban now has a total of nine CMA wins under his belt, much to the delight of his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, who showed her support for him during the CMA big night which was broadcast over ABC.

Urban had won the "Musical Event of the Year" award twice before. First was in 2009 with Brad Paisley for "Start A Band." Then, last year, he won it again with Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift for "Highway Don't Care."

The other major CMA winners were as follows:

For "Single of the Year," the winner was "Automatic" by Lambert. The single was produced by Frank Liddell, Chuck Ainlay and Glenn Worf.

"Album of the Year" was awarded to Lambert's "Platinum," also produced by Liddell, Ainlay, and Worf.

The "Song of the Year" award was given to "Follow Your Arrow," by Kacey Musgraves, Brandy Clark, and Shane McAnally.

Lambert also won as "Female Vocalist of the Year." Her counterpart as "Male Vocalist of the Year" was Blake Shelton.

Little Big Town received the "Vocal Group of the Year" award while the "Vocal Duo of the Year" award went to Florida Georgia Line.

Brett Eldredge was proclaimed as the "New Artist of the Year."
