Lightroom 6 Release Date: Beta Reviews Boast of a Much-Improved Adobe Photoshop

Hopes are high for Adobe Photoshop users after the release date of the much anticipated Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 has finally been confirmed.

This time around, the users, particularly photography professionals, expect a much improved software that will meet most if not all their expectations – unlike the recently released Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 which disappointed a number of users who noted its limited functionality among other drawbacks.

Adobe Photoshop is considered as the world's most sophisticated and most popular photo editor program. It is the favorite of professionals such as photo editors and graphic designers as well as students. The program is easy to use, intuitive and has a wide range of photo editing features, including touch-ups and lighting.

The Adobe Lightroom 6 is the latest version of this program. Aside from a wide variety of photo editing capabilities, the software also acts as a photo management tool.

The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 release date is still several months away -- March 2015. However, a beta version of the program has already been released and is ready for download. Since this version is not yet the official, full release, it may only give a sample of the capabilities that the program has in store.

According to Cyberland, the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 has more streamlined features compared to the 5.5. But the biggest improvements are in the areas of stability and enhanced performance, Cyberland says.

The source says the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 has been optimized to such an extent that it runs almost 70 to 100 percent faster than Adobe Lightroom 5.5.

The Lightroom's mobile version already has 200,000 users a month, according to CNET.

In an interview with Photokina, Tom Hagarty, director of Adobe product management, said Adobe is expanding to the mobile market following the successful launch of its mobile Lightroom.

Sources say Adobe's Lightroom has already eclipsed Apple's Aperture. Both applications actually have the same features. But since Apple has stopped releasing Aperture, mobile users are now solely relying on the mobile Adobe Lightroom.

The recently released Lightroom 5.5 supports the new mobile features and new cameras. The upgrade is free for LR users and can be accessed via the Help menu.

Lightroom Mobile 1.1 is now able to support the iPhone. The app has several improvements, including the much welcomed custom sorting.

Adobe has likewise announced that its photography plan for the Creative Cloud (Photoshop + Lightroom) now has "permanent" $9.99/month price tag.

The makers of Adobe say they are working hard to ensure the forthcoming program features easier-to-use systems and faster software to ensure enhanced performance.
