'Age of Empires II HD' Rise of the Rajas DLC release date news: developers promise stable multiplayer matches
Skybox Labs and Forgotten Empires partner to develop a new DLC for the "Age of Empires II," which is set to come out in a couple of days. Titled as "Rise of the Rajas," the expansion has given a fresh vigor to the old 1999 strategy video game.
"Age of Empires II" Rise of the Rajas downloadable content (DLC) will be solely included in the "Age of Empires II: HD Edition" pack. The latter game is the remake of the original title released in 2013. With the addition of the upcoming expansion, new technologies, units and civilizations will be seen by the players throughout the four new campaigns.
Avid fans surely know that the remake was launched about 15 years following the release of "Age of Empires II." The remake, then, boasted a new gaming experience with its better graphics quality and a new Steam Workshop support.
In an article by Digital Trends, "Age of Empires II" remains to be one of the most favorite video games of all time due to its one-of-a-kind gameplay. The title is able to achieve a sense of game balance as players would need to do several efforts to gain victory, which includes raising a town, gathering resources and strategize military moves.
Now that the upcoming DLC is about to enter the gaming world, Skybox Labs and Forgotten Empires made sure that they are preserving what the game has been known for.
"We've had an open beta over the past few months to identify and correct a few performance issues," wrote community coordinator, Joe Homes.
"With today's announcement of Rise of the Rajas, we're also pushing these performance upgrades live to all of our players for free. Among other things, this makes multiplayer matches much more stable, and we've added multiplayer restore back in, so if you ever do lose a match in progress to a desync, you can get it back and pick up where you left off!" he added.
"Age of Empires II" DLC "Rise of the Rajas" will have its digital copy released on Dec. 19.
