'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 4 release date, news and updates: Promo for episode 7 released
A lot of fans geeked out when the latest episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." revealed that Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) got his powers from another Ghost Rider, who was referred to as "The Good Samaritan." Incidentally, this was also the name of the episode. A new promo has been released for next week's episode.
The clip only runs for 10 seconds, but it hinted at an intense action sequence involving Robbie's Hell Charger being chased down an alleyway. The narrator also said that "The Spirit of Vengeance continues his demonic quest."
The sixth episode revealed that instead of making a deal with the devil, Robbie was brought back to life and given powers by another Ghost Rider. Fans have been speculating wildly on the identity of the other Rider, and they guessed that it could very well be the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze.
The most recent portrayal of the character was by Nicholas Cage in the "Ghost Rider" movies, but it seems that Marvel has already rebooted the character for their cinematic universe. With the change in origin, however, it could mean that Robbie Reyes may be facing off with the more classic Ghost Rider or perhaps the two would team up to some extent.
It may even be possible that the Ghost Rider in that story passed his powers on to Robbie, making Robbie the only Ghost Rider in existence. Fans may also notice that the Rider who gave Robbie his powers has a more anatomically correct skull with a possible bullet hole in his head. Needless to say, viewers were definitely not prepared for an appearance from the original Spirit of Vengeance.
Will audiences get to see "The Good Samaritan" appear one more time? They will just have to wait and see. "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 is currently ongoing, and the next episode will air on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
