The rumors are rife that AMD will be introducing their next generation of Zen chipsets in the coming months. In fact, there is a good possibility that the company will feature the Zen CPUs in their presentation at the Consumer Electronics Sow early next year. Tech enthusiasts believe that there are a few points to improve for AMD's current version of CPUs, and it appears that AMD is ready to surprise everyone with Zen's new top-of-the-line features.

According to Digitimes, AMD is in the process of clearing their inventory of the current FX 8300, FX 6300 and FX 4300 series of processors. The company has been aggressive in the past few weeks in offering huge price discounts and promo bundles to distribute all of their remaining CPUs, thus giving way for the arrival of Zen next year.

WCCF Tech reported that the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 to be held in January might be the best venue to unveil a new CPU as huge as AMD Zen. The new processing chip to be revealed at the event will mark the beginning of new generation Zen processors, which is now tagged as the "Summit Ridge." The Zen family is expected to feature up to eight cores & sixteen threads, readily compatible with AMD's other upcoming technology, the AM4 platform. Aside from the Zen CPUs, the CES 2017 will also showcase the wide collection of AM4 motherboards, including the high-end X370 series chipset model.

AMD will also make it easier for PC owners to upgrade to the next generation of Zen chipsets without having the replace their entire computer. PC World reported that those who have the Bristol Ridge-powered PCs can upgrade to the new Zen processor without the need of spending on a better high-tier computer unit. AMD's Director of Commercial Business Development, John Hampton, is happy with the latest developments that will give way to easier PC upgrades.

"Enterprises want to keep PCs for as many years as possible, so the ability to easily upgrade to successor chips is important," said Hampton.

As of the meantime, AMD has not yet commented on the rumored appearance of Zen CPUs at the CES 2017. It would be best to wait for the company's official announcement regarding the matter or wait until their presentation in January 2017.
