Apple Watch 2 release date, specs news 2016: Users will be able to send messages and make calls using the device?

When the Apple Watch was released in April 2015, a lot of fans were expecting a second iteration after a year. Rumors and speculations have surrounded the development of the new device; however, exactly a year later, the company still has not made any announcement regarding the rumored Apple Watch 2.

Nonetheless, talks about the upcoming smartwatch continue to emerge including the recent one that suggests that the new model would not depend on iPhone anymore.

APPLE

The Apple Watch is totally dependent on the company's iPhone when it comes to making calls and sending messages. Users will have to download the app on their iPhone so that the Apple Watch will work.

If rumors prove to be true, users will be able to make calls and send text messages using the Apple Watch 2 without pairing it with their phone. According to reports, the new device will also have the ability to connect to the Internet using cellular signal, and not rely solely on Wi-Fi connectivity.

Although other makers such as LG, with their Watch Urbane, and Samsung, with Gear S2, already have this feature, the Cupertino-based company is said to be joining the group.

Meanwhile, Apple has started to create native Apple Watch apps. This means that users can now install apps on the tech watch without the help of their iPhone device. This will also serve as a good indication that Apple will certainly make the Apple Watch 2 as an independent device compared to its predecessor.

The company has remained mum about the details of its next Apple Watch project. According to Value Walk, there are reports suggesting that Apple will launch the next iteration of the smartwatch in September, along with another iPhone model.

Apparently, Apple Watch 2 will not be introduced by the company at their upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016, which was previously expected by some fans.
