'ARK: Survival Evolved' latest news: 'Tek Tier' PC patch goes live
A new "ARK: Survival Evolved" update has been released on Monday, Jan. 30.
As reported by GameSpot, the name of the patch is "Tek Tier," which Studio Wildcard creative director Jesse Rapczak reportedly said is the game's largest patch update ever for the game's "in-development" PC version.
One of the most amazing additions attached to the said patch update is the addition of new power armor sets, which come through the new Tek Tiers. These give gamers super-abilities such as Tek Vision (which identifies enemies, players, and creatures in the world), night vision, and Tek Boots (which is capable of negating fall damage completely).
The armor sets included in the patch are meant for the Ark's end-game, anticipated to be used by players to fight against bosses. Aside from this, the "Tek Tier" patch also adds new weapons, four new dinosaurs, and a sheep.
Other new items featured in the "Tek Tier" patch include Tek Pants, which allows gamers to run fast, and a new jetpack that lets players rocket upwards. A Tek Gauntlet item gives stronger punching power, which is useful for harvesting items as well as in melee combat.
The Tek Rifle, on the other hand, has a long scope, and it can be utilized alongside with night vision and other special modes. The rifle can also be used while riding a T-rex, providing a thrilling experience to gamers as a laser-shooting, dino-riding, blasting machine.
In addition, these special abilities can be combined, and players can tailor their abilities to exactly what they want them to be.
The new "ARK" patch also revamps the boss battles, with each boss having three levels of difficulties. Also, the bosses will drop new items, which is meant to encourage players to go back and battle with them again.
Aside from the patch, Studio Wildcard has also reportedly confirmed that the full launch of "ARK: Survival Evolved" for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC is scheduled to push through sometime in 2017.
