Avengers 2 'Age of Ultron' Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Will Captain America or Iron Man Die?
"Death, Death and Death."
That was the cryptic response of screenwriter Joss Whedon when asked what fans should expect in the much awaited "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" that will hit the big screen in April 2015.
Whedon's remarks sparked massive speculation that at least one of "Earth's mightiest heroes," no matter how invincible they seem to be, will finally meet his or her doom.
Apparently providing a clue on who that hero might be, a Captain America's supposedly indestructible shield was shown broken and cracked into pieces during the recent Comic Con 2014 assembly.
Without his shield, will Captain America be the rumored "fallen hero"?
MoviePilot believes this is not the case. In the comics, he recalls, Captain America is given a replacement shield by fellow Marvel Black Panther. That shield, made from the precious mineral Vibranium, is as powerful, if not more so, than his first one.
Chris Evans also does not believe that his character will be written off in the Marvel Universe. In a recent statement, Evans said: "Who's handing off the shield? Don't take my job from me prematurely, dude!"
So, if not Captain America, is Iron Man the next candidate for retirement? How about the Hulk? Or Black Widow? Or Nick Fury? Or Hawkeye?
Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. earlier declared that Iron Man 4 "is not in the pipeline," which means Avengers 2 will be his sole forthcoming Marvel movie.
Will Iron Man meet his doom in Avengers 2?
In a spoiler, Whedon pointed out that there will be a major showdown between the Hulk and Iron Man in the movie. Will they fight to the death?
An Inquisitr report dared to assert that Tony Stark will die in his clash with the Hulk – despite getting a much tougher armor in Avengers 2 to replace the chest piece and shrapnel removed at the end of Iron Man 3.
As the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo is unlikely to be cast off since he has at least six more Hulk movies lined up.
Nick Fury faked his death in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Some fans say the next movie may just make his death permanent.
Another interpretation or Whedon's "Death, Death and Death" statement is that the one dying is not any of the superheroes but the universe itself.
According to Movie pilot, the villainous Thanos will seek to get hold of the Infinity Gauntlet, "which would give him the power to destroy the entire universe."
Meanwhile, "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" post credits scene description has been revealed which some fans believe will pave the ground for "Thor 3."
Screen Crush reported that Avengers 2 post credits scene would feature Tom Hiddleston's Loki leading a war between Asgard and Midgard.
Asked to comment on the scene during the recent Comic Con in San Diego, California, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth said: "I hope we're doing another one. I think we're doing another one. I don't know anything official as of yet, but I'm looking forward to it."
