Despite several reports circulating all over the Internet indicating the contrary, it looks like Ben Affleck will be directing the next "Batman" movie after all.

When it was previously announced that Affleck would be the one to write, direct and star in the new solo "Batman" movie, it seemed everything was falling into place. However, when he told The Guardian that it was "not a set thing and there's no script," many have put the status of the superhero film project into question.

In his TV interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Affleck finally decided to put the issue to rest and set the record straight.

"I'm gonna direct the next Batman, we're working on it," Affleck confirmed during the interview on Monday, Jan. 9.

Affleck also went on to complain how everyone has been impatient and pestering him to reveal his plans for the upcoming "Batman" solo film.

"It's one of those things that's really frustrating because with 'Live By Night' it took me a year-and-a-half to write it and get it ready and I worked really hard. It's just no one gave a s**t. No one was like, 'WHERE'S 'LIVE BY NIGHT?'" he said. "But with Batman I keep getting the, 'WHERE'S THE F**KING BATMAN?' I'm like, 'Whoa, I'm working! Give me a second!'"

As reported by Coming Soon, Affleck's Batman will be facing off against Joe Manganiello's character, Deathstroke, which will be making his debut in the upcoming movie "Justice League." Additional appearances in the planned "Batman" film include Jeremy Irons as Alfred and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.

DC Entertainment President and CCO Geoff Johns will be working alongside Affleck as the film's co-writer and producer.

While fans wait for any developments regarding the planned "Batman" movie, they can look forward to Batman's return, for the time being, in the upcoming "Justice League" film which is scheduled to hit theaters this year, on Nov. 17.
