'Battlefield 1' DLC release date news update: Giant's Shadow map detailed, drops for free this December
"Battlefield 1" players are set to go to war in the free downloadable content (DLC) map called Giant's Shadow coming to the highly-anticipated first-person shooter this December.
The map is set in fall of 1918 during the time the Battle of the Selle was at its extreme and deadliest. The complete description by Electronic Arts (EA) DICE is as follows:
Here, the fighting moves out of the trenches and into open country where a massive crashed airship casts its shadow onto the battlefield. The British forces have broken through the Hindenburg line and are now in pursuit towards an important railway center. Fierce infantry and tank engagements ensue on the open ground and river banks alongside the Cateu-Wassigny railway where an armored train can still turn the tide.
According to GameSpot, the armored train referenced in the video is packed with armaments, as seen in the Sinai Desert map from the "Battlefield 1" beta.
As its name suggests, the armored train featured in the Giant's Shadow map houses a load of armory that "Battlefield 1" players can use.
Giant's Shadow is not the only map to be featured in "Battlefield 1." There will be five more namely The St. Quentin Scar, Sinai Desert, Amiens, Monte Grappa and the Empire's Edge.
"Battlefield 1" will be released Oct. 21 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One S and personal computer (PC). Microsoft is offering Xbox One S bundles along with it.
The new console will be available in storm gray and white for the 500 GB bundle, which will come with the digital Standard Edition of the game for $299. The latter, however, is only exclusive to the Microsoft Store and Walmart.
It also comes in army green for the 1 TB bundle, which includes a "Battlefield 1" Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, the Hellfighter, Red Baron, Lawrence of Arabia packs, a new visual appearance of the Behemoths, and five Battlepacks.
All bundles will also come with one month EA Access.
