'Battlefield 1' update 2016: Latest gameplay trailer features new weapon and map; PS4 Pro performance will be improved in next update
EA has released a new trailer featuring an upcoming "Battlefield 1" DLC, which will launch later this month.
According to reports, the "Giant's Shadow" DLC, arriving in late December, is a map set during the Battle of the Selle in France. The preview footage from EA shows the Behemoth on Giant's Shadow turning into an armored train. It also revealed that players will get a chance to access horses and planes. The map's name is a reference to the crashed zeppelin in the clip. Aside from giving a first look at the map, the video also shows a new grenade launcher crossbow weapon which was previously leaked by an artist working on the game.
The "Giant's Shadow" expansion pack will be released for free to all players on Dec. 20, but as per the game trailer's YouTube description, "Battlefield 1" Premium members will get their hands on the new DLC one week earlier, on Dec. 13.
Last month, "Battlefield 1" players had been experiencing poor gameplay performance on the PlayStation 4 Pro. Some even said that the game appeared blurry and that the frame-rates were not that high. In a thread about the game's issue on the official Battlefield forums, DICE's Nils Hallberg finally spoke out to tell everyone that the studio managed to find the bug behind the reported problems. He also confirmed that a fix for the issue is coming very soon.
"We found an issue that explains a lot of the issues mentioned in this thread, e.g. FPS drops and blurry textures," he told members of the forum. "The issue relates to the dynamic resolution where the minimum was too high. We have a fix for this for all platforms (except PC that does not use dynamic resolution) and it will be included in the next patch," he went on to say.
Developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts, "Battlefield 1" is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows PC.
