'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: Bryan Cranston on reprising his role as Walter White

"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston has said that he is willing to reprise his role as Walter White in "Better Call Saul" season 3.

"Better Call Saul" is the spin-off/prequel to the cult favorite "Breaking Bad," which debuted in 2008 and aired five seasons before concluding in 2013. In "Breaking Bad," Cranston played the role of Walter, a chemistry teacher who turns to manufacturing meth to stabilize his family's finances after he is diagnosed with lung cancer. The role earned Cranston four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama and a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series (Drama).

While the first two seasons of the critically acclaimed "Better Call Saul" have featured numerous cameos of "Breaking Bad" characters, fans are still in the dark as to the possibility of Walter or Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), the two lead characters, appearing in the series.

Fortunately, Cranston recently confirmed that he would be happy to bring back Walter to the small screen. In an appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," Cranston said, "If they were to call me and say, 'We have this idea, we'd like...' I would say, 'Yes, you don't have to finish the pitch. I'm there, what do you want me to do?'"

"I'll do whatever they want because I know how careful they are and proprietary they are with those characters and storylines," the actor added. According to Cranston, he is confident that a Walter cameo would be something that is unique and creative, and not merely a "stunt casting kind of thing."

The "Breaking Bad" star also revealed that while he hasn't been asked to reprise his role as Walter yet, he has been offered a chance to helm an episode of "Better Call Saul." According to Cranston, he is still mulling over the opportunity, as he is a big fan of the spin-off and directing an episode would entail finding out what happens leading up to that episode.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Deadline, "Better Call Saul" actress Rhea Seehorn talked about what's ahead and whether or not the spin-off will feature any new characters from "Breaking Bad."

Seehorn plays the titular character's (Bob Odenkirk) love interest and fellow lawyer, Kim Wexler, in the series.

"There's a lot of leeway with where they could go," she said. "I can only presume that it's also on the table for them to do scenes that happen during 'Breaking Bad' years in some fashion."

"Better Call Saul" season 2 airs in early 2017 on AMC.
