'Better Call Saul' season 3 release date news: New season will be 'the reckoning' for Jimmy
It looks like "Better Call Saul" season 3 will be dark and sinister for Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) as he is brought closer to his "Breaking Bad" fate.
Speaking to Digital Trends, executive producer Peter Gould described the new season as "the reckoning" as Jimmy and his cunning counterpart Saul Goodman continues to morph into one.
Co-executive producer Vince Gilligan, on the other hand, promised that "Better Call Saul" season 3 will be "satisfying" for the audience although did not elaborate more.
Many are expecting the arrival of Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) from "Breaking Bad: in "Better Call Saul" season 3 as it was teased in the first letters of the previous season's titles that "Fring's back."
Speaking about the kingpin's arrival, Gould said, "One of the wonderful things is if you follow the logic of the show, sometimes it takes you to wonderful places."
Following the show's logic is what led them to bring Tuco Salamanca (Raymond Cruz) in the first season of "Better Call Saul," and then Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) with the former's taking on a bigger role.
"If you're willing to look for it, one thing leads to another. And for me, as a member of the 'first audience' for the show, there's something so rewarding about looking back to go, 'Of course that had to happen, because A plus B equals C,'" Gould went on to say.
This suggests that Gus Fring will arrive in "Better Call Saul" season 3 when the situation and the story call for it. His entrance will have to make sense and not just a shoutout to "Breaking Bad."
Whether he will be pulling the strings and remain in the dark or show his face in the spinoff remains to be seen at the moment though.
However, fans can count on his inclusion in "Better Call Saul" season 3 to change the course of the life of both Jimmy and Mike (Jonathan Banks).
"Better Call Saul" season 3 will premiere spring 2017 on AMC.
