Since "Blade Runner 2049" is going to be one of the most expensive R-rated movies of all time, the scale of the film should be immense as well, right? Well, that's definitely the case according to Ryan Gosling.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gosling admitted that he was overwhelmed by the film's practical effects and sets. "It's really incredible. I was so overwhelmed by the scale of them and how specific and, although, beautiful they are," he stated. Sounds like the film has the best practical sets that money can buy.

Gosling also heaped some praise on director Denis Villeneuve and legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins. "If you made a list of all the characteristics you hoped for in a director and sent it to Santa Claus, there'd be a Denis Villeneuve under your tree Christmas morning," he stated. Villeneuve's portfolio certainly makes him the perfect director to take on "Blade Runner 2049." He has directed several critically acclaimed films such as "Incendies," "Prisoners" and "Sicario."

Gosling went on to say that Deakins was a master at what he does. "He goes about his work very modestly and quietly, but you learn so much from just looking. You realize that once you are in one of his shots, half your job is already done," he added.

"Blade Runner 2049" is set 30 years after the events of the first film, and Harrison Ford is returning to play Rick Deckard. Gosling will be portraying LAPD detective K, a new blade runner. K believes that Deckard may hold the key to prevent what's left of society from plunging into chaos, so he goes on a quest to look for the former blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Besides Gosling and Ford, "Bladerunner 2049" will also star Ana de Armas, Jared Leto and Robin Wright. The film is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 6, 2017.
