"Blindspot" may have already revealed that Dr. Borden (Ukweli Roach) is a mole for Sandstorm, but the worst part is certainly not over.

According to spoiler reports, the terrorist organization has more people than viewers initially thought, and Borden isn't working alone. When the series returns next year, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton), Nas (Archie Panjabi), and Jane (Jaimie Alexander) will get closer to tracking down the whereabouts of Sandstorm. However, their hard work and progress will be derailed by another clandestine operative who is disguising as an innocent person. The said character is also believed to be someone viewers would never expect.

Moving forward, losing their mole in the FBI will significantly affect Sandstorm's overall operations. Executive producer Martin Gero recently caught up with Entertainment Weekly, and he revealed some teasers on what viewers should expect when the show kicks off on January.

"It's a blow to them [Sandstorm] certainly, they've lost both of their moles," Gero said. "They lost the intel that they were getting from Jane and the ability to manipulate Weller, and they've lost their direct mole, their emergency mole, with Borden. But somehow they always stay a step up ahead of us and it starts to drive us crazy trying to figure out how they are able to anticipate our moves," he went on to say.

To date, further details about the back half of season 2 are still being kept under wraps. The network recently released a short teaser, but instead of showing Jane and the FBI team, it focuses on Patterson (Ashley Johnson). In the latest promo clip, the said character appears to be shocked by something. The video also hinted that at least one character will be killed off in the story.

The second season of "Blindspot" returns on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
