'Bloodline' season 3 spoilers, updates: Nolan Rayburn's real father revealed? John headed for breakdown?
The internal drama hounding the production of "Bloodline" season 3 has been resolved, but it looks like the drama that is the story of the Rayburns will take an even darker turn when the Netflix offering returns on the small screens.
The season 2 finale saw Kevin Rayburn (Norbert Leo Butz) killing Detective Marco Diaz (Enrique Murciano). John (Kyle Chandler) was also seen fleeing Florida Keys in his car with Danny's (Ben Mendelsohn) ghost as his passenger. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Danny's ghost could be a projection of John's mind as his way of coping with his murder of his older brother.
As THR noted, John keeping company with Danny's ghost is a good way to show the true nature of the relationship between the siblings, as well as show how much of an impact murdering his brother has on John.
There are speculations that Danny will continue terrorizing John, supposedly for murdering him, and it looks like the appearance of his ghost is the best way to explore that angle.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Nolan Rayburn (Owen Teague), Danny's son, will be back as a key character in "Bloodline" season 3.
Bustle noted that while Nolan and Danny displayed a dysfunctional father and son relationship throughout the series, the biological connection between them is still up for discussion. Danny hardly acted like a father to Nolan, so now there are rumors that perhaps, the two are not related by blood. A foreboding tweet posted on "Bloodline's" Twitter account seems to hint at the dark secrets shrouding the Rayburns in mystery.
The Bitbag reported how showrunner Glenn Kessler teased on the possibility of Nolan being a key character in the upcoming season, saying Danny's death will become the turning point of Nolan's life. Nolan, it appears, may start imitating his deceased father, and the Rayburns will start seeing Danny in him. Seventeen-year-old Teague, who plays the character, agrees.
"He's still young. But he is also someone who will do bad things to make things better. The whole Rayburn clan is guilty of that," he told Tampa Bay Reviews. "I think he's going to lean on the side of making things better, but maybe try to distance himself from what he's already done. He's got a huge amount of guilt. But I still have no idea where it's going. I don't think anyone does."
"Bloodline" season 3 will be returning to Netflix in 2017.
