Brooklyn Nets trade rumors 2016: Have Nets just gotten an amazing bargain for Jeremy Lin?
After arriving in the league in the 2010–11 season, Jeremy Lin has already travelled to five different cities to play for five NBA teams.
He was dealt again, and this time, he sees himself as a player for the Brooklyn Nets. Although, it appears that this is finally the chance for the Harvard University graduate to finally leave his mark in the league.
Lin is now 28 years old and is ready to enter the peak of his career with the Nets. Everyone is expecting him to relive the highs he had with "Linsanity," and it may pay off this year.
According to Fan Sided, Lin may be considered a big bargain as the Nets previously searched for other players who commanded more money for the team, but ultimately put them in quite an unstable situation in terms of money.
Adding Lin to the team is certainly a steal, as he signed a three-year, $36 million deal. For the coming season, Lin is set to earn around $11.5 million, and his pay will increase by $500,000 every year.
For a team that is not expected to make much noise this year, the pressure lifted off Lin's shoulders may make him the star everyone wants him to be.
In his brief career in the league, Lin averages 11.7 points and 4.4 assists per game. Now that he will undoubtedly become the starting point guard of the Nets, these numbers are expected to rise to around 15 points and six assists like how he did with the New York Knicks.
Furthermore, many are suggesting that "Linsanity" may be permanently alive in Brooklyn once he takes control of the team and helps them achieve their realistic targets.
Lin may never be at the level of John Wall or Chris Paul, but he is a star in his own right.
