'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' cheats, tips and tricks: How to acquire the Estoom-Oth weapon
Aside from unlocking an achievement trophy, completing the easter egg quest on the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's" zombie mode via its final content map, "Revelations," gives the player a conclusive narrative to the "Origins" saga. Crucial to achieving this goal is the acquisition of three audio reels that appear only after completing three particular missions.
The Estoom-Oth is a weapon that a player needs to have in order to get the third and final audio reel that features more interesting details about the saga. The Estoom-Oth is the upgraded version of the Apothicon Servant weapon that a player can get from the mystery box. The upgrade can be done using the Pack-A-Punch machine inside the Apothicon monster that can be found in Nacht der Untoten.
To recover this machine, the player must enter the Apothicon's body, get to the end of it and shoot down the yellow veins that connect to the heart. To do this, the player should stun the Apothicon by turning on the terminal once the monster moves in front of it. The stunned Apothicon should then suck the player in.
Gamerant advised that upgrading the Apothicon Servant should be done before getting the second audio reel, which is also inside the Apothicon monster. But before the weapon can be upgraded, the player must first use it to shoot down five floating cubes located in four different locations: the starting point, Mob of the Dead, Shangri-La and Verruckt.
Once the cubes are destroyed, the player can go back to the Apothicon monster and use the Pack-A-Punch to upgrade the Apothicon Servant into the Estoom-Oth. The player can now use this plus another upgraded weapon that is not the Estoom-Oth to retrieve the third and final audio reel.
There are a total of six bones that should be collected in order to get this reel. They can be found in and collected in no particular order from the starting point, the Origins map, Shangri-La, Verruckt, Der Eisendrache, and Nacht der Untoten.
The other upgraded weapon should be used to shoot the special slabs found in the aforementioned locations. The player should then switch to the Estoom-Oth to shoot the pile of bones that appear in place of the slabs.
After this is done, a pile of bones should appear beside the radio in Nacht der Untoten. The player should use the Estoom-Oth to shoot this pile, and then again to shoot the body of Sophia that appears afterwards. The third audio reel should then appear in place of Sophia's body. This audio reel can be listened to via the radio in the Origins map.
"Revelations" comes with the final expansion pack for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" and is set in The Infinite, a dimension that features floating pieces of landscapes from previous maps. Here is the official trailer released by Treyarch.
